About California Proposition 65

Pursuant to California law, we provide the following warning for the parts and equipment we sell.

What Proposition 65 is

Proposition 65, officially the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, is a California law that requires businesses to warn California consumers before exposing them to chemicals that the State of California has identified as causing cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. The warnings are meant to help people make informed decisions about their exposure to those chemicals from the products they buy and use.

The California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) administers the program and publishes the list of chemicals, which is updated at least once a year. OEHHA adopted new warning regulations in August 2016, which took effect on August 30, 2018 and changed the information a Proposition 65 warning must contain.

Why the warning applies to our parts

Loader, crane and truck parts are made of steel, brass, rubber and plastics, and hydraulic and diesel equipment runs on fluids. Some of those materials can contain chemicals on the Proposition 65 list, such as lead in brass fittings or compounds in hoses, wiring and engine exhaust. A warning does not mean a product breaks any safety standard.
